JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who tossed drugs out of a vehicle during a high speed chase.

According to officials, deputies were watching a known drug house off of Highway 613 when a man in a truck spotting authorities and fled around 2 p.m.

The man led deputies on a high speed chase from Escatawapa, Big Point, to Hurley for five to seven minutes. During the chase, the suspect reportedly threw drugs and drug paraphernalia of the window in at least four different locations.

Deputies used stop sticks to take out the front tires of the truck near Hurley, where the suspect then ran into the woods.

Officials have gathered the needles and other paraphernalia, and although testing has not been completed at this time, the drugs are believed to be meth and ice.

No suspect information is available at this time.
