JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A second former corrections officer has been indicted on a charge of unlawful sexual activity after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

Sheriff Mike Ezell said Johnathan Jenkins, of Indianola, turned himself in Tuesday after learning the grand jury indicted him.

We reported earlier in the day Bradley Scott Davis was indicted on the same charge. He was arrested Monday night. Davis, 36, was an 11-year veteran with the sheriff’s department.

Both men are accused of having inappropriate relationships with female inmates. It is unclear at this time if the same inmate was involved with both men.

Ezell said the inappropriate activity involving Davis happened over a two-week period in June. The alleged activity involving Jenkins, 33, took place over two days in September, according to the sheriff.

Bond for Jenkins and Davis was set at $10,000. Both men have bonded out of jail.
