GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The Biloxi Bomb Squad was called out to Gulfport on Monday evening to investigate a possible mortar round found near the intersection of 15th St. and 42nd Ave.

Gulfport Police Department spokesman Sgt. Joshua Bromen said the device was a training round and was not a threat to the community.

Investigators taped off an area surrounding the First Stop Food Store while the bomb squad investigated the device, but the scene is now clear.
