JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Vancleave man is accused of breaking into a home while the homeowner was out of town and stealing guns and tools.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy John Ledbetter said the burglary happened over the weekend, and the suspect got away with five guns worth $2,000 and some tools after prying open the back door of the home.

Ledbetter said the homeowner’s son discovered the items were missing while his father was out of town. The guns and tools were reportedly sold to people who are friends of the family, and all of the items have been recovered and returned.

Ledbetter said Sean Cameron Barnett, 23, is charged with burglary. His bond was set at $5,000, but he is being held at the Jackson County jail without bond on a probation violation.
