HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A woman is recovering with six staples in her head after her boyfriend allegedly hit her with a glass bottle while she was sleeping.
Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said Carlos Lee, of Long Beach, was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated domestic violence. According to the Harrison County jail docket, this is the fifth time Lee, 36, has been arrested on domestic violence charges.
According to Peterson, Lee's girlfriend told investigators he hit her in the upper section of her head with a 32-ounce glass beer bottle while she slept. He then ran from the scene, but was later arrested with the help of a witness.
Peterson said the victim was taken to Garden Park Hospital where she was treated for a deep cut on her head. She has been released from the hospital.
Lee's bond was set at $175,000 for the felony charge of aggravated domestic violence.
