BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - Former city attorney Donald Rafferty is suing the City of Bay St. Louis for an unpaid invoice.
Rafferty's contract with Bay St. Louis was extended on June 23, but expired on July 30. According to court documents, Rafferty claims he continued to do work for the city throughout the month of August.
Rafferty submitted the invoice to the city to be paid on Sept. 30, but the city council did not approve the claim.
Mayor Les Fillingame requested to approve Rafferty's contract in August, but was rejected by the council.
