HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Three Hancock High students are charged in the theft of electronics from the locker room during last week's game against Gulfport.
Robert Washington, Jr., 18, and two 17-year-old students are charged with stealing cell phones and headsets left in the visiting team locker room.
Chief Investigator Glenn Grannan said Washington was tracked to Atlanta through the stolen cell phones. Washington is charged with burglary. He is being held at the Hancock County jail pending an initial court appearance.
"His mother got him back here, and we arrested him in our office this morning," Grannan said.
Though some of the phones have already been recovered and returned to their owners, Grannan said some of the phones were sold in Atlanta but have been tracked down and will be sent back to the coast.
