SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - You don't have to look very far to find people living in sub-par or even dilapidated homes. Homes with people living in conditions they cannot afford to fix or leave behind for better housing.
The people of First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs saw such a home occupied by Nancy Watling. A home in such poor condition that she fell through the rotting floor.
So this Church did not wait for the government or some other organization to come along and move her somewhere else. Ninety volunteers of First Presbyterian teamed up with the Fuller Center Disaster Rebuilders organization, grabbed their tools and went to work on a brand new home for Nancy Watling.
She will soon move into a home she calls a "gift from God." We agree, it is a gift from God, delivered by the good people of Ocean Springs. That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to firstname.lastname@example.org.
