BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi fire crews responded to a house fire near Kensington Drive Sunday afternoon.
Flames and heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the Back Bay home. Initially reported at 3:10 p.m., seven fire trucks and almost two dozen firefighters responded to the blaze.
"There was some collapse on the second floor from the inside, so we had to pull the guys out because of the collapse from the second floor to the first floor," said Biloxi Fire Chief Joe Boney. "We had to pull the guys out and go into what we call a defensive attack, and that was just trying to get access to knock that fire down."
Officials do not have details about what might have started the fire, but say no one was at home when it ignited.
