BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Biloxi Indians under veteran head coach Bobby Hall are beginning to explode offensively and are playing solid defense.
The Indians dominated the Ocean Springs Greyhounds 44-28 behind the passing and running of junior quarterback Tucker Thomas.
He passed for 131 yards and ran for 82 and kept the Greyhounds defense off-balance.
Running back Nick Ross scored three rushing touchdowns. Biloxi is now 2 and 1 in the Region 4-6A ranks.
St. Martin took care of business in Lyman and beat Harrison Central 41 to 7. Quarterback Wayne Overman and game breaking wide receiver Kalem Reddix put on another offensive show and the Yellow Jackets defense was able to corral Rebels quarterback Tavis Williams and gave only one rushing touchdown to Keon Moore.
The Yellow Jackets travel to Biloxi next week. St. Martin is 2 and 1, tied with Biloxi, George County, D'Iberville and Gulfport atop the Region 4-6A standings.
George County exploded past D'Iberville in the fourth quarter and posted a 55-21 victory.
Gulfport traveled to the Kiln and handed Hancock a 38-10 setback. The Admirals travel to Lyman next Friday in the annual Gulfport-Harrison Central Showdown.
Picayune remains unbeaten following a 56-48 slug fest win over Hattiesburg. Maroon Tide running back Josh Littles had another big game helping Picayune improve to 3 and 0 in the Region 4-5A standings.
Stone traveled to Jackson County where quarterback Preston Stringer and wide receiver Nick Brown led the Tomcats past the Gautier Gators 28 to 7. The Tomcats are 2 and 1 in Region play and travel to Picayune for a big Friday Night Football Showdown next week.
St. Stanislaus won the "The Battle for the Crab Trap" over Bay High in convincing fashion 56 to 14. LSU interim head coach Ed Orgeron and Ole Miss offensive coordinator Dave Werner were both in attendance, keeping an eye on Rockachaws quarterback Myles Brennan the LSU commit.
Next week, Brennan and company entertain the East Central Hornets in a Region 8-4A Showdown in the Bay. The Hornets popped Pass Christian 49-19.
In other games Pascagoula defeated West Harrison 39-7, Pearl River Central over Long Beach 48-28, Moss Point 41 Vancleave 10, Perry Central beat St. Patrick 53-0, Poplarville defeated Forrest County AHS 34-7.
Resurrection has a home game at War Memorial Stadium 6 p.m. Saturday hosting Stringer.
