Investigators believe copycat is responsible for school bomb threats

Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the felony arrest of the person or persons responsible for two middle school bomb threats Wednesday.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said East Central Middle School and St. Martin Upper Elementary School were both evacuated this morning after threatening messages were found in the campuses.

Deputies searched both schools, and no devices or weapons were found.

Ezell said a threatening note was found in the bathroom at East Central, and a message was written on the bathroom wall at St. Martin.

This was the third bomb threat at St. Martin since Sept. 20. Ezell said his department believes these false reports are the work of a copycat.

If you have any information that could lead investigators to suspects in these cases, please call the sheriff’s department at 228-769-3065 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
