BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - The stop work order has been lifted on a downtown Bay St. Louis restaurant. The owners of Dan B's say they will be able to resume construction next week.
The city issued a stop work order on the property back in September, about a month after co-owner Ken Murphy said he received his building permit. Murphy took to his Facebook page to express his disappoint with the detour in construction, even posting letters he sent to the city asking for an explanation behind the stop work order.
Murphy was on the agenda to speak at Tuesday night's Bay St. Louis Council meeting, but with news that the work order was lifted he decided not to speak.
Murphy is thankful for the Mississippi Attorney General's office helping him resolve the issue with the city. He now hopes to have the three floor restaurant and bar open by November.
