KILN, MS (WLOX) -

The Jourdan River Steamer is taking steps to rebuild once again. Owner Hank Plauche told WLOX News Now he's pulled building permits to build his restaurant in the same waterfront location in the Kiln.

Hurricane Katrina destroyed his original restaurant. Then after rebuilding, Hurricane Isaac heavily damaged the popular seafood spot.

Plauche started to rebuild the business once again during the summer of 2015, but worked stopped after a tragic construction accident killed a man. A concrete contractor died when the flooring collapsed at the site in September 2015

Plauche said CBC Builder, based in Biloxi, will build his new restaurant. It will be a concrete building, and he hopes to be finished within nine months.
