BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Dozens of our four legged and feathered friends may be a little better off thanks to a blessing service held at a school in Biloxi.
The parking lot at Nativity BVM school was full of pets Tuesday morning. They were here for a chance at a blessing from Father Dennis Carver.
This is something Sister Mary Jo looks forward to all year. As principal, she hopes the morning will spread a blessing, not only to the pets, but to their humans as well.
"I think during our blessing of pets we show respect for creation. It helps us return to recognize the goodness around us," said Mary Jo. "Many times when we are struggling with difficulties in life, this helps calm our fears and helps us realize how blessed we are."
Mary Jo extends this annual tradition to nearby vet offices and others in the community looking to bless their animals.
