JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A generous donation will help a South Mississippi child with autism get a service dog.
Luke has autism and relies on body language and other tools to communicate. A teacher at his school recommended getting a service dog to help with social skills. The service dog costs $25,000.
Luke and his family spent the past several months trying to raise money for a service dog. They even hosted a golf tournament with the help of Good Fight Foundation and Shell Landing Golf Club this summer.
In a Facebook post Sunday, Luke's mom announced that a generous donor helped them make their goal. Family members say the dog will go to school with him to help make outings and field trips more fun.
