SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

It's that time of year again as classic cars and hot rods cruise up and down Highway 90 along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Luckily, the weather for the event couldn't have started off much better.

Sunday brought a bit of cloud cover, but the temperatures were not too high, making for comfortable conditions for the cruisers to ride around with the windows down.

The weather for Cruisin' The Coast looks pretty good, but some days are looking better than others.

Monday may end up being one of the warmest days accompanied by a good amount of sunshine.

On Monday, cruisers will be greeted with cool temperatures in the morning and a great sunrise, but the afternoon brings warm conditions with plenty of sunshine that will have many reaching for a cool beverage or air conditioning as temperatures rise into the mid to upper 80s.

The warmer weather is expected to continue through the middle part of the week as well, but there will also be a slight increase in cloud cover for Tuesday through Thursday; giving a little extra shade from the sun.

Unfortunately, with the increased cloud cover Tuesday through Thursday, we will also see a slight chance for rain.

Don't expect the rain to put too much of a damper on the Cruisin' events, as most showers with be brief and the rainfall will be light to moderate.

It's best though to make sure you have a way to cover up those classic rides quickly though if you do happen to find yourself under one of those few, brief showers.

The showers are the small price we will pay for the perfect end to Cruisin' the Coast week as far as the weather is concerned.

A cold front will be passing through at the end of the week and for Friday through Sunday the coast will sit under a mostly clear sky with plenty of sunshine and comfortable conditions.

Temperatures for the end of the week are expected to be in the 60s each morning, and in the lower to mid 80s each afternoon.

Whether you are a local, or visitor, the week ahead looks great for outdoor activities and cruising down highway 90.
