BOSSIER CITY, LA (WLOX) -

A man wanted for the April murder of a Gulfport resident is now in custody.

According to the Bossier City Police Department, 20-year-old Jaquarius Jermon Shields turned himself in to police just before 4 p.m. on Sept. 29.

Shields was wanted in connection with the April 9 death of Dennis Bunch.

Though Shields wouldn't say how he got to Bossier City, or how long he has been there, he surrendered to authorities without incident.

Shields was booked into the Bossier City Jail, where he waits for a transfer to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility, where he will then await extradition back to Gulfport.
