HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers have suspended the search for two suspects accused of stealing a vehicle and leading them on a chase. The suspects are still at large.
Chase Elkins with MHP said troopers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle Monday night along I-10. Elkins said the driver refused to stop and led troopers on a pursuit down the interstate from Exit 44 to Exit 41.
Troopers managed to disable the stolen vehicle by deploying spike strips near Exit 41 in Woolmarket.
Elkins said the driver and passenger then got out of the vehicle and ran into the woods. Troopers used police dogs to search for the men, but were not able to find them Monday night. They say the vehicle was stolen in Mobile, AL.
