2 inmates escape from MDOC center in Gulfport

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Authorities are searching for two inmates who escaped early Sunday morning from Harrison County Community Work Center.

Zachary Savoie, 21, and Joshua Walton, 33, were reported missing around 3 a.m. from the Gulfport center, which is located on 8th Avenue.

Savoie was serving a total of four years for residential burglary and grand larceny in Pike County. Walton was also convicted of residential burglary and was serving six years for the crime in Neshoba County.

Both men were last seen wearing white shirts with green and white striped pants.

Officials say they are not aware which direction the pair may be traveling at this time.
