Deputies Chase Subject With Meth Lab In Truck

Pearl River County deputies were searching on Sunday for a man who they say was driving a truck with a meth lab in the back.

Sheriff Joe Stuart says deputies received a call about a suspicious vehicle near Poplarville around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found three men hanging around two cars. When deputies began investigating, they discovered that one man had a stolen shotgun. 30-year-old Larry Todd Necaise was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and for having drug paraphernalia.

Investigators say 33-year-old Terry Thompson of Poplarville jumped into a truck and drove off. Deputies chased him and they say Thompson eventually crashed the truck into a fence.

The sheriff says a tank of anhydrous ammonia ruptured in the crash and created a cloud, which one deputed inhaled. He was treated by AAA Ambulance company.

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics was called out to dispose of the chemicals in the back of the truck.

Thompson fled on foot. He is described as a while male, 5'10" tall, weighing 160 pounds. He is wanted for possession of drug chemicals, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and other traffic violations.
