People in Pass Christian tried to stomp out a fatal childhood disease on Saturday.
About 500 people walked along Scenic Drive in Pass Christian as part of the second Annual Batten's Disease Research Fundraiser. Organizers say the fundraiser raised more than $50,000.
Batten's Disease is a genetic disease that slowly breaks down the body's neurological system. There is no cure for Batten's Disease, and children born with it usually die before their 10th birthday. Organizers of walk say Batten's Disease affects one in every 4,000 children.
