BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The City of Biloxi is about to be one big attraction richer. The brand new Margaritaville Resort will be opening its doors soon.

The family entertainment center, aptly named Escape, opens June 23 at 5 p.m. The hotel tower and water park officially open June 30.

The moment you walk in the door, you enter the fins up lifestyle. It immerses you with a laid back atmosphere that you can't deny, and it all started as a dream to create an attraction for a new audience.

"We're going to make it a tax revenue producer and something that we think the point in Biloxi certainly needs for families," said resort general manager Joe Farruggio.

Farruggio couldn't be more excited to get the doors open. With 55,000 square feet of indoor entertainment, a water playground and a 373-room hotel, he believes the target market casts a wide net.

"Now we've added this, and now there's a place where families can come here and have fun, and I can tell you that this is generational. You can have three generations here. You can have your grandparents, your children and your grandchildren, and you can all enjoy this place," said Farruggio.

According to Farruggio, the test days filled with employees' families and friends have proven that. From the 150 plus arcade games, the ropes course, the first ever indoor cloud coaster in the nation and 48-foot volcano rock wall, there's something for everyone.

Then there are the restaurants, like Doe's Eat Place, Margaritaville, Five O Clock Somewhere Bar and the Landshark grill. A rooftop water playground, complete with a swim-up bar, lazy river, water slides and more will keep you feeling the parrothead way.

The modern rooms don't hurt the experience either.

"It's relaxation. It's coastal living, and this is the best place we could do it," said Farruggio.

Booking a room automatically provides you with four passes to the water park. Additional passes can be purchased.

Games and attractions in the family entertainment center can be accessed using a re-loadable game card.
