More than 1,200 residents without power following storms

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - More than 1,200 residents are without power Friday night as storms pass through the area.

According to the Mississippi Power outage map, more than 500 people in areas including Moss Point and Oceans Springs are experiencing outages as of 8:15 p.m. Crews are on the scene and expect to have power restored around 10 p.m.

The Coast Electric Power Association outage map shows that at least 850 customers in Harrison County are currently without power. There is no estimate as to when services will be restored.

Singing River Electric is reporting that more than 3,3000 meters are without power because of high winds and bad weather.
