BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - There's caution tape stretched around the playground at Hiller Park in Biloxi. But it's not anything bad. Work crews cordoned off the area to tear down old playground equipment.
It's a $40,000 plus project to upgrade the park facilities. Biloxi Recreation Director Sherry Bell says the aging equipment was due for a facelift. She gives much credit to city Council Member Dixie Newman who spearheaded numerous fund raisers to obtain money for the project.
A construction crew was busy tearing out the old slides and swing sets. The new gear will be installed on Friday.
