JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Two Biloxi residents accused of robbing and killing 29-year-old Donta Banks will remain behind bars after waiving their preliminary hearings. A grand jury in Jackson County will review the case and decide whether or not there is enough evidence for a trial.

Prosecutors say Patrick Anderson, 35, and Rita Johnston, 36, shot and killed Banks, stole his car and dumped his body off a dirt road in St. Andrews on March 22. The pair was arrested after crashing that stolen car into a home in Biloxi later that day.

Anderson and Johnston face life without parole or the death penalty if convicted.

To report information on this case, call Jackson County Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Smith at (228)-762-3016 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at (877)-787-5898.
