Mississippi State recruiting assistant coach arrested for DUI

STARKVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

Recruiting assistant coach Rod Gibson was arrested for DUI late Saturday night and released on bond.

He was driving in Starkville when the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Department pulled Gibson over.  After his arrest Gibson was released on bond.

Gibson accepted the Bulldogs recruiting assistant job in February after serving as the running backs coach at Co-Lin Community College.

He played running back at Mississippi State in 1998 and 1999 and was instrumental in securing the services of five-star linebacker Jeffery Simmons.
