MISSISSIPPI SOUND (WLOX) - Five days into the 2016 shrimp season, there are mixed reviews from fishermen. Some are reporting decent catches so far, but most agree prices are low and shrimp are running on the small size.

Ted Luke at St. Michael's fuel and ice dock in Biloxi said some large shrimp are also being caught.

"It's been jumbo or gumbo," Luke said.

Manager Chris Lyons said this is the busiest day so far at the dock.

"The big boats are starting to come in," said Lyons. "So, we should be busy through the weekend."

Third generation shrimper Jared Guidry said it seems to be getting tougher each year to make a living on the water. When asked how many hours he puts in each week, Guidry chuckled.

"It would be easier to tell you how many hours of sleep I get."
