News Minute: Here is the latest Louisiana news from The Associated Press at 9:40 p.m. CDT

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana's legislative leaders believe they may be able to wrap up the state's latest special session on Sunday night. House passage of a tax deal on Friday has paved the way for that possibility.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Former first lady Michelle Obama says her upcoming memoir "Becoming" is a "re-humanization effort" that shares the "ordinariness of a very extraordinary story" that she hopes will give voice to people who feel voiceless. She made the remarks as she helped kick off the American Library Association's annual conference in New Orleans.

SLIDELL, La. (AP) - A Louisiana couple is accused of dealing drugs and dogfighting, and authorities say deputies confiscated cocaine, marijuana, a sedative and 15 dogs. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says 40-year-old Michael Ratcliff and his 29-year-old girlfriend, Antinette Johnson, were arrested Wednesday, and seven children aged 4 to 14 were turned over to relatives. Both remained in jail Friday. Ratcliff's bond was set at $218,000 Johnson's at $46,500. It was not clear if they had attorneys.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Democratic state senators are pushing legislation asking Gov. John Bel Edwards to recall Louisiana National Guard troops at the Texas border until separated families who entered illegally are reunited with their children. The request is sponsored by New Orleans Sen. J.P. Morrell. A Senate committee advanced the legislation with a 3-1 vote Friday. It moves next to the Senate floor for debate.
