BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana's special session is careening off course, with tax proposals stalled and House Republican leaders unable to corral enough GOP votes to move legislation they want in exchange for tax votes. Lawmakers continued Thursday to pull bills from consideration, leaving nearly every major bill halted. The inaction raised questions about whether the budget-balancing session would produce anything and if the fractious House was so divided that gridlock was all it could achieve.

BATON ROUGE, La.
