TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A former University of Alabama student says she was wrong and "there's no excuse" for videos she posted using a racial slur. Harley Barber is no longer enrolled at the university after the videos were reported to school administrators.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - The snow has stopped but travelers are warned to watch for black ice on roads around the Carolinas. A storm that swept across the South dumped up to 12 inches of snow near Durham on Wednesday. Winter weather advisories were in effect Thursday morning because of leftover snow as temperatures dropped as low as 3 degrees.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Senate has approved a bill that would do away with marriage licenses and the requirement for people to go through a wedding ceremony. Senators on Tuesday voted 19-1 for the bill. It now moves to the House of Representatives. Sen. Greg Albritton said his bill, 'truly separates the church and the state.'

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Senate has approved a bill that would require police agencies to collect data on race and traffic stops. Senators on Tuesday approved the legislation on a 27-0 vote. It moves to the Alabama House.
