The Port of Pascagoula has many accomplishments of which to be proud. It is among the top 25 ports in the country in terms of tonnage; shipping crude oil, refined products and chemicals.
The Port of Pascagoula is responsible for some 19,000 direct and in-direct jobs on the coast. And it is growing, as it starts construction of a wood pellet export facility with shipments to Europe as a coal replacement.
Another recent development is the port director, Mark McAndrews, will soon assume the position of American Association of Port Authorities Chairman. Our congratulations for his election with our hopes for continued success for the port. As it grows, so grows the economy of South Mississippi.
