WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) - Waveland Police Chief David Allen said a tip from an aware yard maintenance crew helped nab a burglary suspect Wednesday.
Allen said the crew was working at a neighboring home when they noticed a man driving a black Ford Mustang burglarizing a home on Longs St. on May 27.
Investigators were able to trace the vehicle back to Nicholas Champagne, of Bay St. Louis, according to Allen.
"This is a great example of what can happen when members of the community observe their surroundings and report suspicious activity," said Allen.
Champagne, 27, was arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary. He is being held at the Hancock County jail on a $50,000 bond.
