Ole Miss extended its winning streak to 4 games, 3 straight at the SEC Tournament with a solid performance at the plate against Vanderbilt.
Third baseman Colby Bortles continues to belt doubles. His double scored the first of four runs for Ole Miss in the top of the second. Cameron Dishon added a two-run double in the innings and the Rebels were off and running.
J.B. Woodman cracked his 14th home run in the top of the fifth inning. Bortles stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and you guessed it, he smashed a double with the bases, that plated all three Rebels.
Freshman pitcher James McArthur got the starting call for Ole Miss. He pitched 5 1.3 innings and kept the Volunteers in-check.
Relief pitching didn't do well and Vanderbilt would rally.
Ole Miss closer Wyatt Short came in with two outs in the bottom of the night and he got the final out to preserve a 12-9 victory.
The Rebels have Friday off and return to face the Vanderbilt-Texas A&M winner Saturday at high noon in the SEC semifinals.
