(KFVS) -

Officers in Cape and Sikeston are reporting numerous flooded roads.

According to the National Weather Service, sections of County roads 210 and 219 in Scott County, east of Rockview, were washed away due to flooding.

County Road 226 is closed just west of Highway 25 in Cape Girardeau County. The National Weather Service says a pipe washed out from under the road.

Captain Jim McMillen with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety is asking people to stay off the roads in Sikeston, if possible. He said they've gotten a lot of flash flooding, cars are flooded out, storm drains are clogging up and cars on the roads are pushing water onto people's property.

Southeast Missouri State University reported flooding issues near campus.

They say Henderson Street between Cheney and Dempster Hall is closed due to flash flooding.

They also report some campus buildings are experiencing flooding issues.

In addition, they say the power is out in Scully Building due to the water.

Crews responded to a water rescue on Abbey Road in Cape Girardeau where a man drove into water over the road.

Luckily, he made it through. As a reminder, please remember to turn around, don't drown.

Perry Road in Cape Girardeau is closed right now because the Pond at Capaha Park is flowing out of its banks.

According to the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, there are several roads with 18 inches to 3 feet of water on them.

They also said there is low visibility as the rain pours down.
