Suspect in custody following Ocean Springs standoff

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

Following a hours-long standoff at a home in Ocean Springs, the suspect has been taken into custody. 

According to Police Chief Mark Dunston, officers were assisting the U.S. Marshals Service in serving a warrant on a fugitive at a home near the intersection of Gibson Rd. and Hwy. 90 when the standoff began.

Dunston identified the fugitive as George A. Kelly. According to police records, Kelly was wanted out of Okaloosa County, FL after failing to appear in court on March 10.

Witnesses say officers on the scene referred to the fugitive as armed and dangerous.
