HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - With summer just around the corner, the Coast Transit Authority is getting ready to introduce a new service to the Hancock County community.
This Thursday, the agency will launch a free beach trolley that will run seven days a week down the county's coastline.
The route will run from the Silver Slipper Casino to the Depot District in Bay St. Louis with stops along the way in Waveland, Buccaneer State Park and the Bay Harbor. Officials say riders can also hail a trolley to board at any time.
"We are very excited to partner with Silver Slipper Casino to provide transit service to the Bay-Waveland beach area," said Kevin Coggin, Executive Director of CTA.
The trolley service will run on a 60-minute loop from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
