BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Two sea turtles are making their way back into the wild after a little time in rehab. A crew with the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport released the animals Tuesday morning into the Mississippi Sound. One was a Kemp's Ridley turtle, and the other was a green sea turtle.

Andrew Heaton with IMMS said the turtle were picked up in Long Beach, and treated for esophageal tears after getting hooked on fishing lines. Once they were deemed healthy enough to survive on their own, they were released back into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Remember, if you find a stranded marine animal, don't touch it. Call the experts at IMMS at 1-888-SOS-DOLPHIN.
