A Gulfport man is in jail on a $250,000 bond after police say he raped his ex-girlfriend.
Gulfport Police Sgt. Damon McDaniels says a missing persons report was filed by the victim's family around 8:30 p.m. May 19 after they were unable to reach her by phone.
While police were at the home taking a report, the victim arrived and told authorities she had been kidnapped and raped by her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Lamar Dallas.
According to the victim, 32-year-old Dallas went to her apartment after they had a phone argument. When he arrived, he got into a fight with the victim and choked her. Dallas then reportedly raped the victim at knife-point.
At that point, Dallas allegedly forced the victim into his car and drove her to his home in the 14400 block of Rippy Rd.; where she says he sexually assaulted her a second time.
Following the second assault, Dallas reportedly drove the victim to a home near Dedeaux Rd. and Franklin Ave., where she set her free.
Dallas was arrested on May 20 and charged with kidnapping and two counts of sexual battery. He is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility.
The age of the victim is not known at this time.
