MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - A large water main break in Moss Point has left many residents in the north part of the city with low, or no water pressure.
According to Public Works Director Roy Hutchinson, it took about seven hours to repair a 10-inch water main on Hwy. 63 near Estabrook Toyota on Friday.
Hutchinson says residents north of that area are now under a boil water notice, which is typical after a water main break. It will take several hours for the water pressure to return to normal. Workers will be going door-to-door to notify residents of the boil water notice.
Whenever a boil water notice issued, residents should bring all drinking and cooking water to a rolling boil for one minute to kill any contaminants.
