GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A 23-year-old Gulfport man is behind bars Friday after being accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy.
According to Gulfport Police Sgt. Damon McDaniel, the victim's father says Dominique Montez Macon forcibly entered his son's bedroom through a window at 10:30 p.m. May 19. After reportedly assaulting the young boy, Macon then ran away from the home.
In a follow-up investigation by police, Macon was identified as the suspect and warrants were issued for his arrest. Macon was taken into custody at his home on May 20, and charged with residential burglary and sexual battery of a minor.
After being booked at the Gulfport Police Department, the 23 year old was then transferred to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility, where he is being held in lieu of a $2 million bond.
Macon was currently out on bond for an October 2015 cyberstalking charge involving a teenager. That bond has been now been revoked.
