HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

The woman who was killed Friday morning in a two vehicle accident near Tradition on Hwy. 67 has been identified by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

MHP spokesman Chase Elkins says Martisser Webster, of Jackson, was ejected from the backseat of a Chevrolet Malibu when it was hit by a Chevrolet Cruz heading north on Hwy. 67 just before 6:30 a.m.

Elkins said Webster, 41, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Three additional people in the Malibu were injured, including Webster's mother; who has not been identified. The driver of the Cruz has been hospitalized.

The intersection near Tradition has been the scene of several deadly accidents in recent years. Emergency officials who work these scenes say something needs to be done, perhaps a traffic study, to determine if tragedies could be prevented in the future.
