Gulf Coast Bulldogs ink five basketball players

PERKINSTON, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs men's basketball coach Wendell Weathers signed what he calls the best signing class in years.  The players inked letters of intent to play for the Bulldogs in 2016-17.

"We still have things to do, "said Weathers.  "I feel good about the people we've signed.  I think they're high quality players with a big upside."

Jonte Moultrie, a 6-3 forward from St. Martin and teammate Stacee St. Julian a 6-1 point guard signed with the Bulldogs.

6-3 forward Jalen Peters of Pass Christian is bound for Perkinston along with former West Harrison 6-3 guard Harvey Smart.  He played at Itawamba last season.

Provine's E.J. Galloway a 6-7 power forward and 6-8 small forward Qua'Darius Green of McComb also signed on the dotted line with Gulf Coast.

St. Julian averaged 22.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game as a senior at St. Martin.

Jaylen Peters netted 13.9 points and 6.6 rebounds as a senior at Pass Christian High School.

Harvey Smart averaged 3.8 points and 1.7 rebound at Itawamba Community College last season and as a senior at West Harrison High School, he bagged 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals.
