Man indicted in slaying of Waffle House waitress

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A Harrison County grand jury indicted a man accused of shooting a waitress inside a Waffle House in Biloxi. Assistant District Attorney Crosby Parker said Johnny Mount's arraignment will be sometime next month in Biloxi.

Mount, 45, is accused of shooting Julie Brightwell inside the Hwy. 90 restaurant in the early morning hours of Black Friday last year.

Investigators tell us prior to the shooting, Mount and Brightwell got into an argument, because she told him he couldn't smoke inside the restaurant.

Mount is charged with first-degree murder and is still sitting at the Harrison County jail with a $2 million bond.
