SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

There are two more sections of the Mississippi Sound you don't want to swim in this weekend. Friday the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued water contact advisories for Biloxi West Central Beach from Travia Street east to Iberville Drive and Pascagoula  Beach  West from Oliver Street to Westwood Street.

Water contact advisories issued Thursday for Waveland Beach from Oak Boulevard to Favre Street, Buccaneer State Park Beach from 100 yards west of the sign eastward to 100 yards east of the sign and Long Beach from Oak Gardens Avenue to Girard Avenue remain in effect.

MDEQ warns if you swim in these parts of the Mississippi Sound, the current high bacteria levels mean you have a higher chance of getting sick.

MDEQ will lift the advisories when water samples show that bacteria levels are safe for human contact again.
