BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - When Hurricane Katrina destroyed the old Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge in 2005, a bigger, better bridge was built to take its place. Now, 10 years after that devastating storm, the new bridge is more popular than ever.
Every day, hundreds of people walk, jog or bike on the bridge. Some do it strictly for the health benefits, while others simply enjoy the view during their walk.
From one end to the other and back again, the bridge is almost four miles long, so it's definitely a good workout.
On this day, women with baby strollers could be seen, as well as a group of airman from Keesler Air Force Base getting a training workout.
As always, the view is unbeatable, with boats churning through the waters of the Mississippi Sound, pelicans dive bombing the water looking for breakfast and Deer Island in view on the horizon.
