Harrison Central High School has become a dominating fast pitch softball team, ranked No. 2 in the State and No. 92 in the nation by MaxPreps.
Head coach Jimmy Parker has 520 career wins and his Red Rebelettes are going after three consecutive State Championship titles.
Parker said, "We stress discipline. We stress teamwork and most good teams do stress teamwork. They do a lot of team bonding activities together. had a crawfish boil a few weeks ago. Had a movie day last Sunday."
Outfielder Simone McKinney is batting .594 with 63 hits in 106 at-bats. She says the players trust coach Parker and his staff.
"Our coaches are the best coaches that anybody could ask for, "stated McKinney. "They coach us to be the best team in the state and we love working hard for them."
Sophomore Kristen Cade has posted 13 wins and 2 losses with a 0.82 earned run average
Senior Madison Burge has posted 9 wins and only 1 defeat with an impressive 0.61 ERA.
Burge said, "We just have the thought in our heads that we're good enough to beat anybody that we go against and have confidence in ourselves and confidence in our teammates."
The future also looks bright. Out of the 25 players, only 3 Red Rebelettes are seniors.
