PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) - Pass Christian is getting its first ever splash pad.
According to Pass Christian Mayor Chipper McDermott, the splash pad will go up in War Memorial Park and will cost roughly $130,000.
The mayor says that money for the capital improvement project comes from the recent BP settlement.
The city and Pass Christian Main Street are putting together the project.
McDermott says the city is trying to work out some kinks on the splash pad.
"The delay has been is trying to figure out how to get the water into the storm drain without having to go into the regular sewer system because that's going to cost us money when it goes back into the treatment plant. So that is the problem to get it how we are going to do it," said McDermott.
The mayor estimates that the project will take about three months to complete.
