GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Capital murder suspect D'Juan Holloway will soon be on his way back to the state of Mississippi.
According to Gov. Phil Bryant's press secretary, the state has finalized an extradition request on May 3 and mailed it to governor of New Mexico. The request is the next step in what has become a 16-month process to have Holloway returned to Gulfport.
Dashboard and body camera footage obtained by WLOX News shows the chase, and eventual shootout, between New Mexico police and the murder suspect.
Holloway allegedly killed Ray Howze of Gulfport in January, 2015, stole the teen's car and fled. One day later, New Mexico authorities captured Holloway following a gun battle near the New Mexico/Texas border.
