BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum has another exhibit coming to town, and it's dedicated to what some call America's favorite past time.

"Our love affair with baseball is a six month exhibition that tells our story on the the Mississippi Gulf Coast about the history of baseball from the early 1900s with minor league baseball," said former NY Mets world series champion Barry Lyons.

The event was organized in collaboration with Lyons, and will feature a multiple activities.

"We're gonna have a have a lot of special events, we're gonna do things over at MGM park with a commemorative jersey," said Ohr board president Vincent Creel. "We're gonna have a 4th of July picnic out here in the city's fire work free zone."

Coordinators say the exhibition isn't just about telling the history of baseball, but also about spreading the culture of baseball along the Coast.

"It's gonna be an amazing gift top this community for younger kids from baseball fans, and just people in this community that'll have a chance to come in and here great speakers every Friday for lunch," said Lyons.

A special guest speaker will present during lunch each Friday, something the organizer firmly believes will draw a large crowd.

"We're expecting to see 50,000 people come through the door here at the Ohr O'Keefe all summer long," said Creel.

The exhibit starts May 10 and will last until Nov. 4. Tickets are on sale at georgeohr.org
