Report: Severe weather affected 300+ Harrison Co. homes

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - New numbers from the Harrison County Emergency Management Agency detail the mess left behind by last Thursday's torrential downpour. 336 homes in the county were impacted in some way by the rain, high winds, and lightning.

Individual homes/apartments/mobile homes:
Affected: 119
Minor damage: 118
Major damage: 96
Destroyed: 3

Businesses:
Individual business with minor damage: 19
Individual business with major damage: 14
Individual business total loss: 1
Public business with minor damage: 2
Public business with major damage: 1

More than 10 inches of rain poured across the coast on April 28th. Governor Phil Bryant has since declared a state of emergency.
